TLDR

The interests of people are changing, now faster than ever. This applies to the audiences of the worlds biggest opera houses as much as for small theatres. For this reason the Vienna State Opera decided to promote several events with the help of Future Demand and received great results from it.

Future Demand is the answer to an ongoing change in customer behaviour

The Vienna State Opera is one of the worlds most renowned opera houses and a center of music history since its opening in 1869. About 350 performances are staged every year nowadays - showcasing international stars from opera and ballet in combination with the State Opera's famous orchestra. The Vienna State Opera uses the Future Demand software since the end of last year as one of their answers to the changing customer behaviour caused by the worldwide pandemic.

The campaigns promoted well-known but also less popular performances

Among the various events the opera house promoted with the help of the Future Demand platform were 6 performances that happened during April and May 2022 - featuring inter alia Richard Strauss' Rosenkavalier and Die Jahreszeiten from Martin Schläpfer. For each event a campaign was set up online and run on paid social channels.

Increasing attendance significantly and effectively

The performance of the campaigns proved that Future Demand's solution could help the opera house to increase the attendance for every show significantly. Moreover, the ad budget was used very efficiently, achieving a return on ad spend of more than 12:1. A 4-digit figure of additionally sold tickets was a clear sign that it was worth it to rely on a solution that could convince people to attend opera and ballet, even during a time where a general hesitation and lower attendance are common problems across the industry.
