Net Positive by Choice
Our Commitment to Climate Responsibility
At Future Demand, we believe technology should help solve problems — not create new ones. That’s why we’re committed to minimizing and more than offsetting our environmental footprint.
Why We Act
Digital products might seem clean, but every server hour, office light, and business trip consumes energy and resources. We take responsibility for these emissions — not because regulations demand it, but because it aligns with how we believe modern companies should operate: sustainably, transparently, and with long-term impact in mind.
We first focus on reducing emissions at the source — and only compensate what we cannot yet eliminate. Every year, we assess our footprint, reduce wherever possible, and offset 200% of what remains through verified, high-impact climate projects.
How We Reduce Emissions
We systematically reduce our CO₂ emissions through structural and behavioral choices:
1. 100% Renewable Electricity
All our operations — from our Berlin office to our cloud infrastructure — run on electricity from renewable sources.
2. Low-Carbon Commuting
We provide and encourage public transport options for all team members and support flexible working models that reduce the need for commuting altogether.
3. Train-First Travel Policy
More than 95% of our travel within the DACH region is by train — powered by 100% renewable energy. Flights are limited to essential international travel and always included in our carbon accounting.
How We Compensate
Even with reduction at the core, some emissions remain unavoidable. We compensate for 200% of our total annual emissions through certified projects that:
- Remove or permanently store CO₂ (not just avoid it)
- Meet internationally recognized verification standards (currently all of our compensation is via Gold Standard)
- Create social and ecological co-benefits for local communities
This ensures that our operations are not only carbon neutral but net positive for the planet. We compensate for double our yearly CO2 emissions.
Continuous Improvement
Our commitment doesn’t end with compensation. We continually refine our measurements, expand the categories we track, and invest in reducing our footprint at the source. As Future Demand grows, so does our responsibility — and we’re determined to make our impact count in the right direction.
